Earl Ceylon Stowell was born in Ward County, Minot, North Dakota on June 16, 1923, to Jasper Webster Stowell and Emma Elsie Stowell. He entered the United States Navy in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on December 18, 1941; o/s theater unknown.   He died in service on October 16, 1945, in Alameda, California; buried in Section H, Grave 755, Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo County, California.
