Biography:

Edward Gleason Fox was born in Rugby, Pierce County, North Dakota on November 18, 1919, to William Edgar and Anah Grace Fox. He entered the United States Army in Rugby, North Dakota on February 10, 1941, and served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater.  First Lieutenant Fox was killed in action on April 1, 1945, in Ben Hame, Germany. He is buried at Persilla Watts Cemetery, Rugby, Pierce County, North Dakota in Plot 75, Row 2, Grave 3, 1st addition. First Lieutenant Fox received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Good Conduct awards.
