Biography:

Ernest Floyd Knutson was born in Clifford, Traill County, North Dakota on January 5, 1921, to Olaf (Oluf) Knutson and Tilda Jetland. He entered the United States Army at Fort Snelling, Minneapolis, Minnesota on April 20, 1942, and served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater. Staff Sergeant Knutson died in service on March 13, 1944, at Army Air Base, Blythe, Riverside, California and is buried in Lutheron Finley Cemetery, Finley, Steele County, North Dakota.
