Registered Traill county. Born, DeWitt, Ill., June 5, 1893, of American parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Hillsboro on Sept. 26, 1918. Sent to Camp Custer, Mich. Served in 15th Company, 4th Battalion, 160th Depot Brigade, to Oct. 1, 1918; 22nd Company, 6th Battalion, 160th Depot Brigade, to death.
