Biography:

Gerhard Roger Lund was born in Grace City, Stutsman County, North Dakota on June 15, 1923, to Gerhard Lund and Ellen G. Black Lund.  He entered The United States Army at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on April 14, 1943, and served European African Middle Eastern Theater.  He Married Dorthy Edith Croft. Staff Sergeant Lund was killed in action on March 28, 1945, in Stadteregion Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and is buried in Plot D, Row 14, Grave 9, Margraten, Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Netherlands, Holland. He received the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster.
