Biography:

James Lewis Margach was born in Fargo, Cass County, North Dakota on October 28, 1917, to James Jolly Margach and Anna S Kittleson Margach. He entered the United States Army at Fort Snelling, Minneapolis, Minnesota on April 16, 1941, and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was killed in action on January 15, 1945, in the Philippine Islands. Private First Class Margach is buried at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
