Biography:

John Theodore Johnson was born in Bergen, McHenry County, North Dakota on June 4, 1907, to Marcus Adolph Johnson and Clara Berthine Haugen. He entered the United States Army in Bismarck, Burleigh County, North Dakota on April 10, 1942.  Technician Third Grade Johnson served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater and was killed in action on January 7, 1945, in Malmedy, Arrondissement de Verviers, Liege, Belgium. He is buried in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, Bergen, McHenry County, North Dakota.
