Biography:

Larry Bruce Jacobson enlisted in the United State Army on September 9, 1968. His rank was Specialist 5th Class and his military occupation or specialty was single-rotor turbine observation/utility helicopter repairman. 

Larry Jacobson was born on March 15, 1949, in Norma, Renville County, North Dakota, to Arthur and Margaret Doris Jacobson.  

Specialist 5th Class Jacobson was Crew Chief of the United State Army helicopter UH-1H #69-15429 during a mission to extract troops when they were hit by enemy fire, exploded and crashed on August 26, 1970.  He is buried at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Kenmare, Ward County, North Dakota. He received the Air Medal, the Purple Heart and is honored on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington, DC, name inscribed at VVM Wall, Panel 07w, Line 11.
