Biography:

Registered Mountrail county. Born, Hatton, N. Dak., Nov. 4, 1893, of Norwegian parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Stanley on March 29, 1918. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Company C, 1st Battalion, 163rd Depot Brigade, to April 22, 1918; Company H, 139th Infantry, to death. Overseas from May 3, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensive: Meuse-Argonne. Defensive Sectors: Gerardmer (Alsace); Grange-le-Comte (Lorraine).
