Lorimer Herrmann died Sunday, March 10, at the General hospital New Haven, Conn., as the result of injuries received in an accident the same day.
Lorimer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gottfried G. Herrmann, was born on a farm near St. Olaf, on Nov. 2, 1922. He enlisted in the navy on Oct. 7, 1942, and served in the south Pacific on the submarine Tarpon for two and a half years. Returning to the United States, he was stationed at New London submarine base as an instructor. He was discharged in November, and reenlisted in the regular navy, and at the time of his death was serving on the submarine Torsk.
Surviving are his parents; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Furlong , Dubuque, and Mrs. A lva Possehl, Rockford, Ill.; four brothers, William and Arthur, at home, Harley, recently discharged from the army, and now at home, and Raymond, in the navy and serving aboard an LST at San Francisco; and three nephews and one niece.
