Biography:

Louis was born in Hansboro, North Dakota on September 20, 1916, to Leon E. Allard (father) and Donelda (Jodein) Allard (mother). He had 5 sisters (Marie o, Rasena, Blanche, Anan, and Reta Allard) and 3 brothers (Alfred, George and Leo Allard). When he entered the US Navy Barnes County, NDak on July 21, 1942, he was a resident of Barnes County and was married to Doris (Mae) Allard. Louis died when the USS Augustine came in Collision with the Merchant Tanker Camas Meadows of the coast at New Jersey on Jan. 6, 1944, Louis is honored with a Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, WW II Victory Medal. His remains were not recovered but he is mentioned at the East Coast Memorial, Manhattan, New York and has a memorial grave at riverside cemetery, Fargo, Cass County, NDak.
