Biography:

Louis J Haahr was born in Grand Forks, Grand Forks County, North Dakota on December 11, 1921, to Christian Haahr and Ruth Esther Eckman. He entered the United States Army at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on July 10, 1942. First Lieutenant Haahr served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and was killed in action on May 3, 1945, in the Philippine Islands. He is buried in Grave 14252, Block 25, Section C at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
