Biography:

Lowell George Hardmeyer was drafted into the United States Army via the Selective Service on June 2, 1969, and he began his tour on October 31, 1969. Hardmeyer had the rank of Specialist 4th Class, and his military occupation or specialty was light Weapons Infantry. He was attached to the 198th Light Infantry Brigade, 1st Battalion, 46th Infantry, B Company.

Lowell Hardmeyer was born on February 16, 1949, in Mott, Hettinger County, North Dakota, to George Carl and Clara Dorotheia Hardmeyer.

Specialist 4th Class Hardmeyer lost his life on June 10, 1970, through hostile action. He is buried at St. Vincent Cemetery, in Mott, North Dakota. He received the Purple Heart and is honored on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington, DC, name inscribed at VVM Wall, Panel 09w, Line 38.
