Biography:

Lyle Maynard Johannes entered the United States Army through the Selective Service and started his tour date on September 14, 1969, as a Specialist Fourth Class. His service occupation or specialty was Radio Operator. He was attached to the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam (MACV), Advance Team 36.

Lyle Johannes was born on June 25, 1949, in Kulm, LaMoure County, North Dakota. His loss of life was on January 29, 1970, in Pleiku, Province, South Vietnam, and he is buried at Hillside Cemetery, Kulm, North Dakota. 

Specialist Fourth Class Johannes received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and is honored on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington, DC, name inscribed at VVM Wall, Panel 14w, Line 79.
