He was a passenger aboard Cessna Bobcat UC-78 #43-7528 when he was killed on July 2, 1944, in a plane crash in England. They were on a transport flight from Carentan to Chilbolton when his aircraft experienced an engine failure and crashed close to St. Mark's Church in Ampfield, England, killing all on board.
