Not a registrant, enlisted prior. Born, Grafton, D. T., Feb. 3, 1888, of Norwegian parents. Occupation - laborer. Enlisted at Chicago, Ill., on June 2, 1917. Sent to Jefferson Barracks, Mo. Served in Company E, 6th Engineers, to death. Grade: Corporal, Sept. 17, 1917; Private, Oct. 14, 1917; Corporal, Dec. 5, 1917; Sergeant, Sept. 1, 1918. Overseas from Dec. 5, 1917, to death. Engagements: Offensives: Aisne-Marne; St. Mihiel; Meuse-Argonne. Defensives: Champagne-Marne; Somme. Defensive Sectors: Chateau-Thierry and Vesle (Champagne).
