Circumstances:

Upon arriving in Vietnam, Randolph was assigned to H & S Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. Randolph was wounded 28 December, at approximately 1800H by hostile mortar or recoilless rifle fire, while the company was in a night defensive position 12 kilometers north of the Ca Lu Airfield. He was med-evac to a Station Hospital in Danang where he was given medical treatment and died 30 December, at approximately 1445H as a result of massive bacterial infection with gangrene from multiple fragmentation wounds to the right leg.

Biography:

Randolph was drafted by the Fort Yakes Selective Service Board and inducted in the US Marines 2 March 1966, by the AFEES Office in Cleveland, Ohio.

He was survived by his wife, Doris Mae Hutchinson, his 4 month daughter, Irma and his step-father and mother, Innocent and Edna Josephine Goodhouse and half-siblings, Innocent James and Alice Goodhouse, all of Fort Yakes, North Dakota.

He is buried in Saint Elizabeth Cemetery - Wakpala, SD.
