Circumstances:

On October 23, during Operation WALLOWA the enemy were encountered some 7 kilometers east of Thang Binh in Quang Tin Province. During the ensuing fire fight 1stLt Sime was killed in action by hostile small arms fire.

Biography:

Robert was the husband of Ellen M. Sime of Bergen Norway, the dear son of Mr. and Mrs. Joy Sime of Bremerton Washington. He was commissioned as a 2dLt in the US Army Reserve and arrived for duty in Vietnam on March 30, 1967 where he was assigned to and served with B Company, 5th Battalion, 7th Calvary, 1st Calvary Division, USARV.

He is buried in Garden of Devotion, Lot 194, Space 2 in Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park - Bremerton, WA.
