Biography:

Roger Svir was drafted into the United States Army on May 14, 1970, via the Selective Service. He began his tour on February 25, 1971, attached to the 1st Logistical Command, 159th Transport Battalion, 4th Transportation Command, 1099th Transportation Company. He had the rank of Sergeant.

Svir was born on December 1, 1950, in Park River, Walsh County, North Dakota. He died on September 26, 1971. 

Sergeant Svir received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. He is honored on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington, DC, name inscribed at VVM Wall, Panel 02w, Line 26.
