Circumstances:

Toussaint Bonnici of the US was killed in a car accident, Sept. 22 at Grenada, Miss., when he ran an army truck into a truck parked on the road, while blinded by lights, the fort authorities report. Sgt. Schumacker, who was with him, was slightly injured. 

Biography:

Bonnici was born at Cuzon, Malta, and was in the British Navy when he was 15. He came to the United States when he was 19 and joined the Army later. He was a member of the 15th US Infantry in China after service in Panama. After World War I, he served in the US Army of Occupation. He retired at Fort Lewis four years ago and went south. He was a member of the Catholic church and leaves his wife, Catherine May of Tacoma. The couple had planned to live in Tacoma later. He leaves also a step-son, Otis Gene Galbreath of Fort Dupont, Del. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery, Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington.
