Biography:

Virgil Raymond Greany was serving his country during the Vietnam War when he gave his all in the line of duty. He had enlisted in the United States Army. Greany had the rank of Major. Service number assignment was 82177. He was born on November 26, 1930. North Dakota was his home or enlistment state, and Pierce County has been included within the archival record. Rugby is listed as his city.  1193 - Field Artillery Unit Commander served in Vietnam's operation Barrel Roll and was killed by an explosive device. Received the Purple Heart. Service years 1952-1964. Major Greany is honored on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington, DC. Name inscribed at VVM Wall, Panel 01e, Line 64.
