MOAA Military Officers Association of America
The Military Officers Association of America, Roughriders Chapter is an affiliate of the national Military Officers Association of America. The mission of the chapter is to promote the aims of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). We advocate for national, state, and local legislative actions that protect the rights and interests of uniformed servicemembers, veterans, dependents, and survivors of the same. We encourage and facilitate camaraderie among our membership. Additionally we encourage participation in community services in the best interest of our Chapter.
Joining MOAA
Roughriders Membership in the Roughriders MOAA Chapter is open to anyone who holds or has ever held a commission or warrant in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and their surviving spouses. New members are encouraged to contact any of the officers for the chapter or can email the Chapter at nd.moaa@gmail.com.
About Our Chapter
The Roughriders MOAA Chapter was chartered in 1970 and serves northwest Minnesota and all of North Dakota. Meetings are held bi-monthly primarily located in Fargo. The chapter publishes a bi-monthly newsletter. The chapter currently has 25 members made up of currently serving, former, and retired officers and their survivors.
Chapter Activities
The MOAA Roughriders Chapter holds six meetings a year featuring guest speakers on topics relevant to the members. A special Christmas party is held each December. The Chapter supports local JROTC programs and ROTC programs and annual Memorial and Veterans’ Day observances. The Chapter produces a bi-monthly newsletter. In addition, the Chapter supports nonpartisan legislative efforts for veterans’ issues.
Roughriders Chapter meetings are held bi-monthly during the months of January, March, May, July, September, and November. Locations are announced in the Chapter newsletter. Correspondence to the Chapter can be emailed to nd.moaa@gmail.com or to the current president.
