Christ Joe Dauenhauer was born on August 31, 1923, in Mott, Hettinger County, North Dakota to Jacob Sr. and Rosa Friedt Dauenhauer. He registered for the United States Army on February 16, 1942, and was a Private First Class in the 378th Infantry Regiment, 95th Infantry Division. He was killed in action and is buried at Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial, Colton, South Cambridgeshire District, Cambridgeshire, England, Plot F, Row 7, Grave 115. Private First Class Dauenhauer received the Purple Heart.
