Biography:

Registered Stutsman county. Born, Wadena, Minn., Oct. 4, 1894, of American parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Jamestown on April 2, 1918. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in 3rd Battalion, 163rd Depot Brigade, to April 21, 1918; Company D, 139th Infantry, to death. Overseas from May 3, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensive: Meuse-Argonne. Defensive Sectors: Gerardmer (Alsace); Grange-le-Comte (Lorraine).
