Biography:

Sergeant John Arman was born in Bismarck, North Dakota on May 27, 1930 and was a resident of Burleigh County, North Dakota when he entered the US Army at Ft. Snelling, Minnesota on December 31, 1947. He was a member of the 187th Airborne Infantry Regimental Combat Team and was seriously wounded by the enemy in North Korea on May 29, 1951 and died of those wounds on August 17, 1951 at Walter Reed Army Hospital. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
