Biography:

Randolph Lee Marthe was drafted into the United States Army via the Selective Service on June 1, 1970, and began his tour on October 19, 1970, and had the rank of Private First Class. His military occupation or specialty was Field Artillery Basic, and he was attached to the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery (HHB), 1st Battalion, 92nd Artillery, 52nd Artillery Group, 1st Field Force.

Randolph Marthe was born on November 17, 1950, in Esmond, Benson County, North Dakota. He was reported missing and ultimately declared dead on March 31, 1971. Marthe is buried at Saint Boniface Cemetery, Esmond, North Dakota.

Private First Class Marthe received the Purple Heart and is honored on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington, DC, name inscribed at VVM Wall, Panel 4w, Line 96.
