Registered Cass county. Born, Lewiston, Minn., March 31, 1893, of American-German parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Fargo on Sept. 22, 1917. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Supply Company, 352nd Infantry, to Nov. 29, 1917; Headquarters Company, 347th Infantry, to death. Grades: Private, Sept. 22, 1917; Saddler, Oct. 1, 1917; Private, Nov. 3, 1917; Private 1st Class, March 1, 1918; Corporal, June 1, 1918; Sergeant, June 21, 1918. Overseas from Aug. 24, 1918, to death.
