Biography:
From the Icelandic Canadian Newspaper:
Born at Gardar, Pembina County, North Dakota January 29 1919. Joined the U.S. Air Force July 1942. Served in several parts of the U.S. before embarking overseas. He was killed on his first mission over enemy territory, June 11, 1943. He was awarded the Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart. Son of Skarpheoinn (Jonsson) and Kristin Snydal, Gardar, North Dakota.

Memorialized at Cambridge American Cemetery. Received Purple Heart and Air Medal awards.
