Not a registrant, under age. Born, Martin, N. Dak., Oct. 28, 1898, of Russian parents. Occupation - farmer. Enlisted at Minneapolis, Minn., on March 10, 1917. Sent to Jefferson Barracks, Mo. Served in Company M, 3rd Infantry, to May 29, 1917; Company K, 26th Infantry, to discharge. Grade: Private 1st Class, May 1, 1918. Overseas from June 15, 1917, to Dec. 9, 1918. Wounded, severely, July 18, 1918. Engagements: Offensive: Aisne-Marne. Defensive: Montdidier-Noyon. Defensive Sectors: Sommerviller and Ansauville (Lorraine); Cantigny (Picardy). Discharged at Fort Snelling, Minn., on July 22, 1919, as a Private 1st Class, Surgeon's Certificate of Disability, 75%.
