Registered Burleigh county. Born, Cherokee, Iowa, March 16, 1893, of American parents. Occupation - laborer. Inducted at Minneapolis, Minn., on April 29, 1918. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Company H, 349th Infantry, to May 16, 1918; Company A, 358th Infantry, to death. Grade: Private 1st Class, July 15, 1918. Overseas from June 20, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensive: St. Mihiel. Defensive Sector: Villers-en-Haye (Lorraine).
