On October 27, 1944 he was piloting his P-51 Mustang #44-14422 during a training flight when he collided with the P-51 42-14791 and crashed at Wilden, Worcestershire, England. Lieutenant Albertson was killed while the pilot of the other aircraft survived.

Biography:

Marvin Earl Albertson was born in the area of Ridgeway, Winneshiek County, Iowa on February 1, 1919. He was the son of Ole G Albertson and Amanda Hove. His family was later living in Benson County, North Dakota. Entered AUS Ft. Snelling, Minn 21 May 42; Served European African Middle Eastern Theater; Died in service 27 Oct 44 England; Buried in Plot D, Row 3, Grave 2, Cambridge, England.
