2nd Lt Buchholz was killed in action when he was the pilot of B-24J #42-73080 that crashed on final approach to Kurmitola airbase in India, having flown from Kunming China. All aboard, except the co-pilot, were killed.

Biography:

2nd Lieutenant Bruce Buchholz was born on May 20, 1924, in Minot, North Dakota, to Edward J and Iva Buchholz. On May 26, 1942, he was a resident of Ward County, North Dakota, when he entered the US Army Minot. He was killed in action on August 18, 1944, in Kuritola, India. He is buried in plot 3, grave 240, section 7 in Rose Hill Cemetery, Minot, North Dakota.
