Biography:

Lawrence Vincent Nelson was born in Palermo, Mountrail County, North Dakota on January 26, 1921, to Albert Hilford Nelson and Edna Ione Byington Nelson. He entered AUS Boston, Massachusetts on September 16, 1942, and served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater. Sergeant Nelson was killed in action on January 30, 1945, during the Battle of the Bulge in Ardennes, Belgium and is buried in Block 5, Section 2, Fairview Cemetery, Stanley, Mountrail County, North Dakota.
