Circumstances:
Lieutenant Hendrickson was an infantry officer assigned to Headquarters, 1st Marine Division. He was serving as an observer in an OV-10A Bronco flown by Captain Alfred L. Tripp of VMO-2. They were marking a target south of Danang for an air strike when their aircraft was struck by small arms fire and crashed killing both Marines.
Biography:
He lived in Fargo, ND at some point and was listed on the House Concurrent Resolution honoring ND men who died in Vietnam.
He is buried in Section 30 in the Arlington National Cemetery - Arlington, Virgina.
