Appreciation of Veterans and Military

A concurrent resolution urging the Superintendent of Public Instruction, all North Dakota school district superintendents, and the boards of all North Dakota school districts to work with local, state, and federal military and veterans organizations to observe and promote Veterans Day by developing and disseminating to students in the elementary and secondary schools of this state educational materials that strengthen students' awareness of the contributions and sacrifices made by veterans so that freedom can be enjoyed by everyone.

A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact section 37-01-42 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to honorary high school diplomas for Korean conflict veterans.

A concurrent resolution commemorating the 50th anniversary of the end of the United States combat operations and the release of American prisoners of war in Vietnam.

A concurrent resolution encouraging North Dakota citizens to purchase United States flags made out of hemp and manufactured in North Dakota.

A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact section 20.1-05.1-02 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to discretionary special allocation hunting licenses

Relating to an income tax deduction for military pay; and to provide an effective date.

• All State pay when called to support an emergency on State Active Duty (SAD).

Effective for taxable years beginning after December 31, 2022.

Relating to an exception to membership in the teachers' fund for retirement for retired military personnel.

Relating to hunting and fishing license, permit, and application fees for out‑of‑state national guard members; and to amend and reenact section 20.1‑01‑02, subsection 3 of section 20.1‑03‑07.1, subsection 4 of section 20.1‑04‑12.1, and section 20.1‑06‑14 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to hunting and fishing license, permit, and application fees for out‑of‑state national guard members.

HOUSE ACTION:

• Removed "former member of the national guard"

Relating to designating the bridge on state highway 18 as the veterans memorial bridge; and to provide a continuing appropriation.

Intent of legislative bill:

Allow any surviving spouse in receipt of VA dependency and indemnity compensation (DIC) to be eligible for 1 DAV (non-distinctive or standard) plate and exemption.
