Adjusted Compensation for Deployed Veterans

A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact sections 37-28-02 and 37-28-03 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to the definition of foreign service and period of service and payment of adjusted compensation for domestic and foreign service; to amend and reenact section 6 of chapter 17 of the 2005 Session Laws, as amended by section 10 of chapter 42 of the 2007 Session Laws, relating to payment of adjusted compensation for veterans; and to declare an emergency.

Veterans' Preference Appeals Hearings

A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact subsection 1 of section 37-19.1-04 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to veterans' preference.

ND Department of Veterans Affairs Budget 

A BILL for an Act to provide an appropriation for defraying the expenses of the veterans' home and department of veterans' affairs; to provide for contingent funding; to provide an exception to the moratorium on expansion of basic care bed capacity; to provide legislative intent; and to provide for a report to the budget section.

Veterans Home Construction Appropriation

Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption and Appropriation

Relating to Tax Credits and Benefits Paid by Employers

A BILL for an Act to create and enact a new section to chapter 57-38 and a new subdivision to subsection 7 of section 57-38-30.3 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to an income tax credit for an employer maintaining payment of salary and related retirement plan contributions for an employee called to active military duty as a member of a reserve or national guard component; and to provide an effective date.

Administrative Committee on Veterans' Affairs Members

A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact section 37-18.1-01 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to the membership of the administrative committee on veterans' affairs.

The bill would add two non-voting Ex-officio members to the Administrative Committee on Veterans Affairs (ACOVA). The President of the ND Association of County Veteran Service Officers and the Executive Director of the ND Association of Counties.

Congress to Adopt Veterans Remembered Flag

A concurrent resolution urging Congress and the President to adopt a veterans remembered flag.

Legislative Council Studies

A concurrent resolution directing the Legislative Council to study the adequacy of governmental services, including judicial services, to respond to issues related to an aging population, including veterans, and to study the efficacy of statutes governing public administrator services and methods for the timely and effective delivery of guardianship services.

Motor Vehicles of Disabled Veterans Exempt from Registration Fees

A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact subdivision j of subsection 2 of section 39-04-18 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to motor vehicles of disabled veterans which are exempt from registration fees.

• Removes weight restriction for qualifying vehicles for disabled veterans to receive disabled veteran license plates and be exempt from motor vehicle excise tax on 2 vehicles.

Income Tax Deduction for Retired Military Personnel Pay

A BILL for an Act to create and enact a new subdivision to subsection 2 of section 57-38-30.3 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to an income tax deduction for retired military personnel pay; to amend and reenact subdivisions k and l of subsection 1 of section 57-38-01.2 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to an income tax deduction for retired military personnel pay; and to provide an effective date.
