William H. Leder

Biography:

Leder was born in Flasher, North Dakota, in 1918, the son of Helena Augusta Wall and Carl Benjamin Leder. He attended Mandan High School in Mandan, North Dakota. After high school, he attended North Dakota State Teachers College and graduated with a B.A. Degree. He taught in public schools in North Dakota for two years before enlisting. He enlisted in the Navy on April 12, 1941.

James P. Laughy

Biography:

Private First Class James Patrick "Jim" Laughy was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on December 27, 1930, to Forrest John "Frosty" Laughy and Grace Smith Laughy. He was an only child. Forrest was born in the US and that allowed Jim to get his citizenship and become a Marine. He joined the Maries in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 2, 1951. He served in Korea and regularly wrote letters home. He died in service in Korea from wounds he received in battle. Following his death his parents wished for him to be buried in Edmonton by his grandparents.
