Morris C. Landsem

Biography:

Morris C. Landsem was born on October 3, 1920 in rural Walcott, North Dakota to parents Martin and Inga Ovidia Berg Landsem. Both Landsems were born in North Dakota to Norwegian immigrant parents. They married in Christine, North Dakota on April 2, 1914. Morris had three brothers: Julian, Herman and Orvin, and three sisters: Marian, Harriet and Gloria. The children were all raised on their farm in Eagle Township, Richland County, North Dakota and attended school in Eagle Township. The children were baptized and confirmed in Richland Lutheran Church in Walcott.

Leo C. Lambert

Biography:

Leo Clive Lambert was born in Wilton, Ward County, North Dakota on January 22, 1917, to Clive Erastus (Pete) and Grace Emeline Rants Lambert. He entered United States Army at Fort Snelling, Minnesota February 3, 1942. Private Lambert served Asiatic Pacific Theater and was killed in action on January 28, 1945, at Luzon, Philippines, and is buried in Soldiers Plot, Grave 66, Section 12, Rosehill Cemetery, Minot, North Dakota.

Clement W. Lack

Biography:

Clement Willis Lack was born in Shenford, Ransom County, North Dakota on January 8, 1923, to Joseph E and Esther C Lack. He entered the United States Marine Corps in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 23, 1944, and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Private Lack was killed in action on May 2, 1945, in Okinawa, Japan and is buried in Grave 580, Section F, National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii.

Philip E. Kupper

Biography:

Pius G. Kuntz

Biography:

Pius, son of Jacob Kuntz and Theresia Mastel, was born in Napoleon North Dakota in 1920. After high school he attended North Dakota State College for a year until he had an opportunity to work as a machinist in Los Angeles, California.

In California he met 19 year old Virginia Jaycox and in 1941 they eloped to Las Vegas. They lived in Van Nuys California near an airbase where Pius began flying. Pius loved flying and in July 1942 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and accepted as an Aviation Cadet in 1943.
