Arnold R. Dollarhide

Biography:

Arnold Reed Dollarhide was born in Wolbach, Greeley County, Nebraska on July 29, 1921, to Vernon Glen Dollarhide and Laura Marie Cartwright. He became a resident of Columbus, Burke County, North Dakota and entered the United States Army at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on August 13, 1943. Private First Class Wolbach served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater and was killed in action on January 26, 1945, in France. He is buried in Row 5, Section F, Grave 117, Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Lincoln County, Nebraska. He received the Purple Heart.

Biography:

George R. Dohn Jr.

Biography:

Pvt. Dohn, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Dohn, Sr., was born in Bismarck on Feb. 11, 1918 and received his early education here. In 1936 he graduated from Bismarck high school.

He entered the service with Co. A, 164th infantry of the North Dakota National Guard in 1941 and was stationed at Camp Claiborne, La. Later he was sent to Oregon, then to Australia, New Caledonia and then to Guadalcanal where he was killed in action.

Before entering the service, he was employed by the state highway department.

Lyle J. Doerr

Biography:

born Monango, NDak 26 Nov 23; resident Dickey County, NDak; entered AUS Santa Ana, Calif 23 Feb 43; served European African Middle Eastern Theater; KIA 30 Dec 44 European area; remains not recovered, remembered on the tablets of the missing at the Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial, Colton, England.
