Edward W. Bloms
Biography:
Mr. and Mrs. William Bloms, Minot, were notified by the war department Monday that their son, Private Edward Bloms, 30, serving with the 85th "Custer" division in Italy, had been killed in action September 17th.
The News' "In Service" column yesterday reported that Private Bloms, one of five brothers in service, who recently was cited by his regiment and awarded the Combat Infantry badge for participation in combat.
Elmer Blomquist
Biography:
Lieutenant Elmer Blomquist was the son of Robert C Bloomquist and Anna Bloomquist. He was born on June 23, 1909 in Battleview Burke Count, North Dakota. He entered the US army August 15, 1941 at the age of 32. He Trained at Vancouver, Washington; Camp Roberts, California. He served in Company A 4th Infantry Regiment in the Pacific Attu Islands, Aleutians. He was Killed in Action May 29, 1943, at the age of 33. His remains were returned to the US in 1948 and he is buried in the Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, Battleview, North Dakota.
