Career Description




This position will represent indigent clients in judicial proceedings in the North Central Judicial District and on appeals in the North Dakota Supreme Court. This position will require travel to all counties in the North Central Judicial District and will provide conflict services in other jurisdictions. Our agency is committed to a vertical representation structure. You will be handling cases from initial appearance through trial, allowing you to gain experience in all stages of the judicial process. The Minot Public Defender Office is made up of a Supervising Attorney, two staff attorneys, a legal assistant, and an administrative assistant. Southeast Human Service Center - Fargo, Wahpeton, Lisbon, or Mayville, ND - Clinician **Sign on Bonus up to 2 months' salary** This position is eligible for an 9% pay differential in addition to the base salary. As a Functional Family Therapist, you will provide evidence-based services to families with youth ages 11 through 18 years old who are at risk or have been referred for behavioral or emotional problems. The Functional Family Therapy (FFT) model is designed to empower youth and families by creating strength-based behavior change that will be sustained long after treatment ends. This rewarding career works with adolescents and their families by tailoring services to the individual family using treatment protocols, case management, crisis intervention, community outreach and in-home services. You will function as part of an FFT team and will participate in weekly team supervision and consultation from FFT trained clinicians. This position can be located in Fargo, Wahpeton, Lisbon, or Mayville, ND and may be eligible for hybrid or in-office/remote work. Typical work schedule includes evenings and the ability to be flexible to meet the scheduling needs of families. Most therapists can build their full-time schedules around their caseload to create an alternate work schedule leaving time for family, schooling, or self-care. We also offer flexibility for classes, internship possibilities within our organization, and the availability for licensure supervision. To thrive in this position, you should be comfortable working with adolescents and families, using cultural responsivity and trauma informed practice. You should also have effective interpersonal and relationships skills and be able to individualize program interventions to utilize adolescent/family strengths. To be considered for the Clinician position, you are required to have a master's degrees in Social Work, Counseling, or areas approved by the North Dakota Board of Counseling Examiners and ND licensure as a LCSW or LPCC. OR a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy AND licensure as LMFT by the ND Board of Marriage and Family Therapy OR a master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology with eligibility for licensure as LMFT by the ND Board of Marriage and Family Therapy.
